UK 4G trial area map

BT, along with the Everything Everywhere coalition of Orange and T-Mobile, are seeking 200 volunteers to help test their LTE gear ahead of launching some time after the auction next year.

The 4G spectrum has been unfilled thus far in the UK, with mobile networks (carriers) not allowed to use it until after the 2012 Olympics, when an auction will be held. The reason being that the space will be used for cameras and other equipment by companies involved in the Olympic games.

If you live in the Newquay area, however, you can get a preview slice of fun from September to December this year. Find the sign up form after the more link.
